Joe Doubleday has worked in the aviation field for over 45 years including 8 years in the U.S. Air Force and 8 years in the airline industry. He retired from the U. S. Air Force Reserves in 1995.  Joe has held senior management positions in the FAA's Southern Region and in Washington, D.C. He holds a Florida State Teacher's Certificate and an FAA Mechanic Airframe and Power-Plant Certificate. He served as the FAA Aircraft Maintenance Program Officer for all FAA-owned aircraft and as the Airworthiness Certification Project Manager for various flight programs to ensure all aircraft operated to air carrier standards. He developed training programs, taught numerous aviation courses and was responsible for the management of technical programs. In addition, he has instructed aircraft maintenance courses at the college level and in the airline industry.

During his FAA career, he received numerous awards for superior performance and achievements. His outstanding leadership brought the Flight Inspection Maintenance Program into compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulation Part 135 certification standards process without interruption to ongoing flight operations.  In 2003, Joe received a Superior Achievement Award from the FAA Administrator for his accomplishments in promoting Equal Employment Opportunities in the workplace.  Under his leadership as the Deputy Program Director, Aviation System Standards received the Federal Aviation Program Award (Large Program) in 2002 and 2004.  The organization also received the FAA Administrator's Quality Improvement Award in 1995 and the Department of Transportation Secretary's Quality Award in 1996.

Now serving as StarPort’s Chief Operating Officer, Joe is responsible for the management and growth of the MRO/FBO enterprise.  Here, Joe oversees the daily operations of the Maintenance, Paint, Avionics and Interior departments, as well as the FBO.
